Join me for Mindfulness Teacher training by Fermanagh lakelands

I’m delighted to be bringing accredited Mindfulness Now Teacher Training to Northern Ireland for the first time.

This October I will be offering an immersive five-day training experience in the beautiful Fermanagh Lakelands.

For me, this feels like a particularly special place to begin a new chapter for Mindfulness Now in Northern Ireland. The combination of mindfulness practice, professional learning and the natural environment creates an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life, slow down and reconnect with what matters.

If you’re searching for mindfulness teacher training in Northern Ireland, you may already have a sense that mindfulness could become an important part of your personal or professional life. Perhaps you have an established mindfulness practice and want to deepen your understanding. Or maybe you work in healthcare, education, yoga, therapy, coaching or wellbeing and would like to add mindfulness skills to your existing professional toolkit. Maybe you’re considering a new career and would like to train as a mindfulness teacher.

This five-day intensive training is designed to give you the knowledge, practical teaching skills and confidence to begin sharing mindfulness with others.

A training grounded in mindfulness, psychology and wellbeing

My own professional journey brings together several areas that I feel complement mindfulness beautifully. I am a Mindfulness Now teacher trainer and qualified yoga therapist,  I also hold an MSc in Psychology, with a particular focus on the wellbeing effects of spending time in nature and near water, sometimes described as “blue spaces.” This interest makes the Fermanagh Lakelands an especially meaningful setting for our training.

My studies into our relationship with nature and water has deepened my own appreciation of the ways in which our surroundings can influence how we feel and function. While simply being in a beautiful place isn’t a substitute for mindfulness practice, natural environments can create wonderful opportunities to pause, notice and reconnect.

That is exactly what I hope this training will offer.

A chance to learn about mindfulness while experiencing the benefits of slowing down and paying attention in a beautiful natural setting.

What happens during the five-day training?

Mindfulness teacher training is about much more than learning a collection of meditation exercises. It involves developing your own mindfulness practice, understanding the principles behind mindfulness and learning how to communicate and teach these practices safely, clearly and confidently.

During the five days, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Deepen your personal mindfulness practice
  • Explore the principles and practices that underpin mindfulness
  • Develop practical mindfulness teaching skills
  • Build confidence in guiding mindfulness practices
  • Learn from experienced Mindfulness Now trainers
  • Practise teaching in a supportive environment
  • Reflect on your own experience and development
  • Connect with a group of like-minded people

The training is based on the evidence-informed Mindfulness Now programme and is approved by the British Psychological Society.

Learn in the beautiful Fermanagh Lakelands

One of the things I’m most excited about is the setting. For five days, we’ll have the opportunity to step out of our usual routines and create some breathing space at the beautiful Shambala Holistic Centre near Derrylin, only a few hours drive from Belfast or Dublin. The Fermanagh Lakelands offer an exceptional environment in which to practise mindfulness; with its lakes, waterways, woodland and open landscapes, there is a natural sense of space and calm.

That doesn’t mean escaping from life. Instead, it means creating the space to notice life more fully.

The Shambala Holistic Centre is the perfect venue for our training as it is a purpose built retreat centre with on-site accommodation. It is a place  we can pause, breathe, listen, experience the landscape around us and learn together.

From mindfulness practice to teaching others

Many people discover mindfulness because they want something for themselves.

Perhaps they want to feel less overwhelmed. Maybe they want to manage stress, become more present or develop a greater understanding of their thoughts and emotions.

Over time, a personal mindfulness practice can lead to a desire to share these benefits with others.

Becoming a mindfulness teacher is a natural next step for some people, but it is also an important responsibility.

Teaching mindfulness isn’t simply about knowing which meditation to guide. It requires presence, compassion, good communication and an understanding of how to create a supportive learning environment.

That’s why our training places emphasis on both personal practice and practical teaching experience.

I want you to leave the course not only with knowledge, but with greater confidence in your ability to share mindfulness with others.

Who is mindfulness teacher training for?

You may be considering this training if you are:

  • Interested in becoming a qualified mindfulness teacher
  • Looking to deepen your existing mindfulness practice
  • A yoga teacher or therapist wanting to broaden your skills
  • Working in health, education, coaching or wellbeing
  • Looking for meaningful professional development
  • Considering a new career in mindfulness and wellbeing
  • Simply ready to explore mindfulness more deeply

You don’t need to arrive with all the answers. You simply need an openness to learning, practising and exploring what mindfulness could mean for you and for the people you may eventually support.

A supportive and inspiring learning experience

I believe that the environment in which we learn matters, so does the community we learn with.

Over the five days, you’ll be learning alongside people who have different backgrounds and experiences but share an interest in mindfulness and wellbeing. There will be opportunities to ask questions, practise, reflect and learn from one another.

My hope is that you’ll feel both challenged and supported — encouraged to develop your skills while also giving yourself permission to slow down and experience the practice for yourself.

Your next step in mindfulness

For me, teacher training represents both a professional and personal journey. It can be a way to deepen your own practice, develop new skills and potentially create a meaningful way of supporting the wellbeing of others.

I’m particularly excited that we’re creating this opportunity in Northern Ireland for the first time!
