MEET YOUR TRAINER

Genny Brown, MA, MSc, SYT

LEAD TRAINER: NORTHERN IRELAND

Genny is an advanced mindfulness teacher, clinical hypnotherapist, and Mindfulness Now teacher trainer. She is a Senior Yoga Teacher and therapist with Yoga Pros and has taught meditation and yoga since 2007. Genny incorporates 25 years of experience as a Zen Buddhist practitioner (Black Mountain Zen Centre) and her experiences of living in an Indian ashram into her work.

Genny has extensive experience of working with victims and survivors of The Troubles in Northern Ireland. She specialises in working with adults and children with learning disabilities, ASD, cancer support, MS, Parkinson’s support and mental health groups.

Genny used mindfulness to support her and her family during her husband’s illness and subsequent death from cancer in 2014. She continues to explore how mindfulness and somatic therapies can be used to aid trauma recovery and help clients manage stress, anxiety, depression and chronic illness.

Genny recently completed a Certificate in Integrative Counselling and an MSc (conv.) in Psychology, focussing on trauma healing, ASD and Blue Spaces. Genny is a keen surfer and incorporates the benefits of nature into her work as much as possible. She combines her knowledge and experience to create a unique and welcoming approach to health, healing and teacher training.
